The greatest peaceful nuclear blowup in history was a horror story but the real lesson seems to be missed. Human beings were cleared out of the area. The result? A renaissance of nature.

Maybe this pull back of human beings deserves another look.

Ken Burns put together a tv documentary about our National Parks called 'America's Greatest Idea'. Interesting that America's greatest idea was to set aside wilderness areas that would be minimally affected by human intrusion. He's right of course and of course as usual the obvious implication is carefully avoided. Less people more wilderness.

MORE TREES, LESS PEOPLE!
