An interesting graph to contemplate.

A lot of progress being made in energy efficiency and energy alternatives to fossil fuel. It appears from the graph that from 2007 to 2012 there was even about an 10% drop in US CO2 emissions. Since then emissions have slowly been creeping up.

Gosh, I wonder why. Perhaps there is some counter weight to these wonderful techno fixes.

If you figure it out please don't tell anybody. You'll be stepping on too many toes including most "environmentalists."

Of course with the US because of our glutinous energy use there is a lot more potential emission cut backs. In the case of the rest of the world whose per capita use is much more meager cut backs are harder to come by. This graph helps tell that story. About a 430 CO2 ppm by 2030 - nice!
